Judaization of Andalusia. Falsifying ancient history for modern ideological ends

The following article addresses the historical misrepresentation of the memory of al-Andalus in terms of its architectural and urban legacy. In many Spanish towns and cities, we are witnessing a partial and self-interested rewriting of the Andalusian legacy in an attempt to grant a prominence, which it did not have as such, to one of the so-called ‘three cultures’, in detriment of the other two.

This activity, biased and in no way respectful of historical reality, has received the senseless support of several local councils, which, often out of ignorance or due to the pressure exerted by certain local and external sectors, have encouraged the pretended prominence of the Jewish element. This was undoubtedly important and a source of pride for our Spanish nation, but it does not attain the exceptional status that those sectors claim it to be, especially when this is done in detriment to the Muslim and Christian elements. In contrast, the monumental remains that reflect the Arab-Amazig Muslim imprint of that fertile period languish in neglect and disinterest, in the face of the passivity of Arab and Spanish institutions that should pay greater attention to our fertile Andalusian heritage in all its forms.
