This exhibition presents 121 objects, most excavated by joint Palestinian–French rescue digs since 1994, that underline the city’s archeological importance and testify to the great variety of national and ethnic groups that have lived here. The finds include Egyptian, Hellenistic and Roman pottery, Byzantine mosaics, Egyptian alabaster, a Greek helmet and Ottoman architectural fragments, here supplemented by photographs of the sites where they were found.
Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, Geneva, through October 7.
