Qalam, words of art

An ambitious project created by the Islamic Culture Foundation (FUNCI) in partnership with the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat, this spectacular exhibition aims to show, through the many styles and periods of the rich tradition of Islamic calligraphy, penmanship and book-making, that the messages conveyed by the Islamic civilisation are indeed universal ones. Focused on priceless Arabic-Andalusian manuscripts from the Middle Ages, Qalam, Words of Art aims to outline our shared past with the goal of promoting knowledge, recognition, respect and dialogue amongst cultures.
